Roadmap
PurposeOS is an early prototype. This page separates what works in the current image from what is only designed.
Working today live
- Local executor with retry and fallback, per-app sockets and an encrypted activity log
- Wake word with a phrase you choose, live dictation, voice settings and file opening by exact name
- Indexer for files, file names and the activity log, with semantic and keyword search
- Apps framework: .papp bundles, purpose-pkg, Landlock sandbox, intents and capture routing
- Journal and Scratchpad as reference apps
- Prebuilt disk image for aarch64 with first-boot model download
Planned planned
Contracts and providers
Apps declare what they implement and what they use (action@app-id), so you can swap which app fills a capability. The manifest already reserves uses and implements.
Go SDK
A module that wraps bind, serve, error kinds and the manifest check.
Agent definitions
An agents entry in app.json so an app can ship an agent that runs on the local model.
Signed apps
Signing, then network access for signed apps only.
Seccomp and socket isolation
Close the gaps listed on the privacy page.
Semantic search inside apps
Journal search by meaning through the index.
Mood and activity analysis
A periodic job over the encrypted log, on the device, with an app to show it.
More apps and daemons
Calendar and mail daemons for add-event and delete-event intents.
x86_64 image and ISO
With the LTS kernel.
